Frequently Asked Questions
Providing answers to your questions
What is Cerebral Palsy (CP)?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of conditions that affect movement, posture, and muscle coordination. It is caused by damage to the developing brain, usually before or shortly after birth. CP is non-progressive, meaning it does not worsen over time.
What causes Cerebral Palsy?
CP may result from complications during pregnancy, premature birth, lack of oxygen to the brain, infections, or brain injury around the time of birth. In many cases, the exact cause is unknown.
How is CP diagnosed?
CP is diagnosed through developmental assessments, physical examinations, and medical history. Imaging tests such as MRI may also be used. Early diagnosis helps start therapy at the right time.
What services does your rehabilitation center provide?
We provide comprehensive rehabilitation services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, special education, assistive device support, and family counseling.
What age group do you serve?
We serve children from infancy like 2 to 3 years of age. Therapy programs are customized according to the child’s age, abilities, and needs.
What makes your center different?
Our center follows a child-centered, multidisciplinary approach with experienced therapists. We focus on long-term functional independence and active family involvement.
Which therapeutic services does Imran Rehabilitation Center (IRC) provide for children with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Autism Spectrum Disorder?
Physiotherapy helps improve mobility and strength, occupational therapy enhances daily living skills, and speech therapy supports communication and swallowing. Combined therapy gives the best results.
How often does my child need therapy?
Therapy frequency varies by child, depending on their treatment plan and goals.
Do you create individualized treatment plans?
Yes. Each child receives a personalized treatment plan after a detailed assessment, with clear goals and regular progress reviews.
What results can we expect from therapy?
Progress varies for each child. While CP cannot be cured, therapy significantly improves mobility, communication, independence, and quality of life.
Who will work with my child?
Your child will be treated by qualified physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, special educators, and medical professionals working as a team.
Do you give home plans to the parents for therapy sessions?
We encourage parents to observe and participate by giving them home plans so they can continue supportive exercises at home.
How can my child be admitted?
Parents can contact us to schedule an initial assessment. Admission is based on evaluation results and therapy requirements.
What documents are required for admission?
You will need the child’s medical reports, diagnosis, previous therapy records (if any), and identification documents.
